Scrywell

Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-04-25.

Scrywell is a technical SEO health monitoring tool operated by ARK Solutions. This Privacy Policy describes how Scrywell collects, uses, stores, and protects information in connection with the service.

1. Who we are

Scrywell is operated by ARK Solutions, an Illinois entity. Privacy questions can be sent to parker@ascensionadvisory.com.

2. Information we collect

Scrywell collects the minimum information needed to monitor the technical health of websites you connect to it.

  • Account contact details. The email address used to sign in, and any notification email addresses you configure for a site.
  • Site crawl data. When Scrywell crawls a site you have configured, it stores the URL, HTTP status, page metadata (titles, meta descriptions, canonical and robots directives, on-page structure), discovered links, and resource references. This data is collected from publicly available pages or pages your site owner has authorized Scrywell to access.
  • Google Search Console data (when connected). If you connect a site to Google Search Console, Scrywell reads search-analytics rows for the connected property — clicks, impressions, click-through rate, and average position per URL — for a rolling 28-day window. Scrywell does not request user-level data, purchase data, or any other Google account scope beyond what is necessary to read these aggregated statistics.
  • Waitlist signups. If you provide your name and email through the waitlist form, those details are stored solely to contact you about Scrywell availability.

3. How we use information

  • To run scheduled and on-demand site crawls and produce reports.
  • To send notification emails about new, regressed, or fixed issues to the recipients you have configured per site.
  • To diagnose service errors and improve crawl reliability.
  • To respond to support and privacy requests.

Scrywell does not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

4. Where data is stored and how it is protected

  • Site, crawl, and issue data is stored in a Neon-hosted Postgres database in the United States.
  • Per-site secrets — including Google Search Console refresh tokens and GitHub access tokens — are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM before being written to the database.
  • Aggregated GSC traffic statistics are stored in the page_traffic_stats table.
  • Outbound email is delivered via Resend; outbound page fetches are performed by Scrywell's crawler and the Trigger.dev task runtime.
  • Access to production data is restricted to ARK Solutions personnel who require it to operate the service.

5. Data retention

  • GSC search-analytics data is stored as a rolling 28-day window per URL. Older windows are overwritten on the next sync.
  • Crawl run data is retained for as long as the site is configured in Scrywell, so you can compare runs over time.
  • Account, notification, and waitlist data is retained until you ask us to delete it, or you remove the site or account.

6. Google API services and limited use

Scrywell's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google Search Console data is used solely to surface technical SEO insights inside Scrywell to the user who connected that property. Scrywell does not transfer, sell, or use this data for advertising or for serving ads, and does not allow humans to read it except where strictly necessary for security investigations or with the user's explicit consent.

7. Revoking access and deleting data

8. Children's privacy

Scrywell is intended for use by website operators and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced through Scrywell or by email. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

10. Contact
